Every connection starts with an address
In a multi-device RS-485 network, every device needs a distinct communication address. Matching that address to its physical position and zone supports monitoring, batch speed control and fault location.
Bring addressing into the installation sequence
The RSP5028 gateway supports automatic addressing. As devices are connected according to the installation plan, the gateway assigns their addresses. Commissioning should verify that device locations, zones and addresses match the physical installation.
Orderly device connection is the foundation of clear monitoring and maintenance.
Organize devices by zone
The RSP5028 gateway provides five independent RS-485 buses, each supporting up to 60 FFUs, for a total of up to 300 per gateway. Management tools communicate with the gateway through independent Ethernet or RS-485 uplinks. RSP5021 motor drivers connect to the gateway over RS-485.
Keep a clear record for maintenance
After connection, organize maintenance information around zone names, device locations and operation records. When a fault occurs, technicians can begin with the zone and device information shown in the monitoring system and verify conditions on site.
